Ontario Convention Center Hosts American Dance Idol California Regional Competition

ONTARIO, CA (October 6, 2003) - Dancers, take your places! The Ontario Convention Center will host the American Dance Idol regional competition in southern California October 10 through 12. American Dance Idol is the first National Solo Competition of its kind.

"The Ontario Convention Center is thrilled to host the regional competition for American Dance Idol," stated Amita Patel, OCVB's director of sales and marketing. "Dancers all throughout the western region are calling to compete in Ontario."

Junior, teen and senior soloists will compete for the title of American Dance Idol and a total of $30,000 in cash prize money. 648 regional finalists will continue on to the American Dance Idol Championship Finals in Orlando on December 7.

Dancers in the competition will perform a routine up to 2.5 minutes in length. Routines may include any style or styles of dance. Each dancer will receive a critique immediately following their performance, a digital video recording of their performance and a 1-year subscription to Dance Spirit or American Cheerleader.

At the conclusion of each regional event, 18 dancers from each division will be chosen to continue on to the American Dance Idol National Finals.
