ONTARIO, CA (July 20, 2004) – More than 5,000 test-takers will be at the Ontario Convention Center on July 26 through July 29 to test their legal skills for the California State Bar Exam. The Ontario Convention Center is one of seven locations in which the test will be held.

"Each year, the State Bar organizes this exam for thousands of individuals looking to practice law in California," said Amita Patel, OVCB's director of sales and marketing. "We are privileged to have our name associated with such a prestigious group that makes so many individual's dreams a reality." Patel estimates the event to provide an economic impact of $1.7 million for the city of Ontario.

With more than 195,000 members (July 2004), the State Bar of California is the largest state bar in the country. More than 145,000 lawyers actively practice law in California, while the rest retain their licenses as inactive members. To practice law in California, applicants must pass the California Bar Examination and pay annual membership fees to the State Bar of California.

Locations for the State Bar Exam include Ontario Convention Center, Oakland Convention Center, Sacramento Convention Center, San Mateo Expo Center, Pasadena Convention Center, University of California, San Diego and the San Diego Concourse & Performing Arts Center.
