ONTARIO, Calif., April 17, 2006 – Ontario Convention Center is on a winning streak with booking repeat business. Multi-year contracts have been renewed with the California State Thespian Festival and the California State Bar Association. The events will utilize nearly 11,000 hotel rooms, attract 16,000 attendees and bring in $10.1 million in economic impact to the City of Ontario.  

"We are in the process of renewing other event contracts," says Bob Brown, OCVB's executive director and general manager. "We have the Convention Center booked through the year 2011. We've definitely exceeded our sales goal."

The California State Thespian Festival recently held its annual event at the Convention Center and was pleased with the facility.  "We are an educational theatre association made up of volunteer teachers and are impressed with how well the Convention Center has worked within our budget," says Krista Carson Elhai, California state thespian director. The California State Thespian Festival has renewed its contract through 2011.

The State Bar of California has contracted to hold its bi-annual California State Bar Exam at the Convention Center through 2008. More than 148,000 lawyers actively practice law in California, while the rest retain their licenses as inactive members. To practice law in California, applicants must pass the California Bar Examination and pay their annual membership fees to the State Bar of California.

The Convention Center is flexible enough to accommodate a variety of group sizes and is host for multiple events including corporate, private and community events. Meeting and event planners choose the Convention Center as an accessible and affordable destination located in the center of all Southern California has to offer.
