ONTARIO, Calif., January 5, 2007 – The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) returns to the Inland Empire for their fourth year at the Ontario Convention Center January 12-14.

More than 9,000 model enthusiasts will take part in the three day convention featuring model aircraft, remote control cars, boats and accessories. A "swap shop" will be open on Friday, January 12 and Saturday, January 13 only. A static model competition will be held throughout the weekend. There are five categories and several sub-categories in each. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in all categories. Entries are free and open to all ages. While there is no limit to the number of categories entered, there can only be one entry per category. There are also seminars and presentations taking place all three days of the convention.

"I've received a lot of inquiries about this show. Area model enthusiasts were hoping the show would return this year, and I'm happy to report the Academy of Model Aeronautics will be with us for many years to come," said Bob Brown, general manager and CEO of the Ontario Convention Center.

The AMA Convention 2007 will be held at the Ontario Convention Center on Friday, January 12 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Admission at the door for members showing their membership card is $13 for a one day pass, $20 for a two day pass and $30 for a three day pass.
