ONTARIO, Calif., April 2, 2007 – The curtain goes up on the California State Thespian Festival April 13-15 at the Ontario Convention Center.
The theme of this year's festival, SPARKS: Ignite the THESPIAN Within, will welcome more than 1,200 high school theatre students for three days of workshops, performance opportunities, scholarships and the opportunity to meet and learn from Thespians all over the state.
The California State Thespian Festival has signed with the Ontario Convention Center through 2011. For the 2007 Festival, 750 hotel rooms are committed and the group will bring in an estimated economic impact of $650,000 to the city of Ontario.
"The California State Thespians had a very successful year with us last year," said Bob Brown, president and CEO of the Ontario Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The Ontario Convention Center provided the space they needed for their growing event and we look forward to hosting them for many years into the future."
