Ontario Convention Center
Projects $4.1 Million in Economic Impact
Ontario, Calif., June, 30 2009 – With 25 events on the books, the
Ontario Convention Center
is set to generate $4.1 million in economic impact from July through
September.
"No event is too big or too
small, especially in this economy," said Director of Sales Amita Patel. "We
continue booking events and stirring business with visitors who will book rooms
at local hotels and spend at local eateries and shops."
The sales team believes
every event is worth booking; every dollar counts. The center hosts family
reunions and celebrations including quinceañeras and school graduations.
The California State Bar
Exam is set to generate more than $1.7 million in economic impact and attract
3,000 visitors when it comes to Ontario July 28-30.
"We offer quality and bang
for the buck and in this economy that's what people are looking for; we're still
booking events," said Bob Brown, Ontario Convention Center General Manager and
CEO. "Ontario is a value destination and airline fares,
rental cars, meal expenses, etc., are lower by 10% to 20% than other Southern
California destinations."
Chula Vista-based Victory
Outreach International is set to host a Youth Conference in July and a Women's
Conference in August. Those two events will attract 5,500 people and generate
$720,836 in economic impact for local businesses.
"A convention center's
purpose is to generate economic impact," Brown said. "We support and help local
businesses thrive with every event we book."
